Hello and welcome friends!!!
This blog has been a long time in the making... a baby that I have been dreaming up for years so here I (finally) am... paying homage to the great Paula Deen.
Paula is a sweet, lovely woman who just seems to love products that I do not consume a little too much. I am not making these recipes healthy by any means but I am taking away all cholesterol, and (hopefully) eliminating the suffering of animals in each one.
Paula creates amazing recipes out of spunk, love, and a whole lot of butter... Something that will generally be replaced by my favorite vegan alternative, Earth Balance. Of course, different alternatives are appropriate in different circumstances bus as far as Earth Balance goes, as a general rule of thumb, when it comes to the taste I prefer the "Soy Free" blend. It seems to have a much more buttery flavor and a better over all taste.
If you are wondering "Why Vegan"? Feel free to reference these links or post questions for me and I will happily respond. I have been vegan for around 16 years now. Beginning back when it was not nearly as easy to be vegan. Rice milk, and hot dogs in a can... it was no way to indulge, but we did it out of compassion and necessity. Now there is every alternative out there and pretty much no excuse to not be vegan other than, you're lazy, and don't care about the planet. I am here to prove that carnivores don't get all the indulgences... Vegans can pile on the "butter" and sugar in an equally indulgent fashion!
Now for my shameless self promotion... For an extra treat, check out my line of vegan "Twinkies" (Dillos)... Hope you enjoy the blog!
